4 Tips to style wet hair

Styling wet hair

Styling wet hair is no rocket science, if you know your products and technique well. It is easy and you only get better with practice. Gorgeous hairstyles do not always have to be complicated, cumbersome and time consuming. The idea is to act smart and experiment. Some creativity and imagination can turn a bad hair day to a chic hairstyle. Besides, wet hair looks just so hot. We have put together few tips to style your wet hair.

1. Take the bottle

Make your own spray bottle at home with a mixture of one part of good conditioner that works best for your hair and four parts of water. Whenever you want to have wet hairstyle, just spray some of this mixture onto your scalp and hair. Let it settle and then using a wide-tooth comb, just split hair from roots to ends parting them into many sections. This would soften your hair and make you get them naturally wavy look. Do not however use a brush, unless of course you want to flaunt a big rat’s nest. You could even comb your wet hair straight back, and tie some portion at the crown area using a pretty clip, and leave rest of the hair open. This makes you look like a cute teenager.

2. Braid it

Braid style works the best if you are looking for wet styles for long and thick hair. This is a timeless and an elegant style. Simply apply a lot of serum on your wet hair and then form a braid any which way. If you ask me personally, sideways looks more chic. Add that soft touch by leaving a few strands out from the sides. If you have some time, you could even use a curling iron to get a few soft locks around the face. This style, however, is more apt for long hair. If you have short hair, then instead tie a pony.

3. Get them natural waves

Everyone wants to have that beach wavy wet look style some or the other time. Beach or no beach, you can get this hairstyle by following this simple technique. You will need some mousse for curly hair or sea salt spray to get this look. Firstly you have to divide your hair into 4-5 sections. Then use your hair products i.e mousse and salt spray. Salt is a natural hair styling product because it gives a firm shape and texture to your hair and binds them together. After this, just scrunch all sections of your hair one by one. Within minutes, you will have coveted sexy beach waves.

4. Pin it up

If you have to go outdoors, your wet hair will get thicker, wavier in texture, which can be quite unruly. In that case, it is better to pin up some sections in a chic way to give you that sweet look. Pull a two-inch section of your hair from the middle of the hairline and secure it with a bobby pin towards the crown. You could even try this with side-parting. For a more sweet look, part your hair from the middle and slide in a pretty tiny flower pin an inch or two from the part on one or both sides.
