Are Minnetonka shoes true to size for small and wide feet?

I am looking forward on buying myself a pair of beaded boat shoes for women from Minnetonka shoes. However, I have small and wide feet; therefore, I have to be quite careful about the shoe size. I had earlier bought a pair of shoes from Nine West of size 8.5, but they didn’t fit me well, when my actual shoe size is 8! I am about to place my order for Minnetonka shoes for myself, but before doing that I would like to know from you guys whether the shoes ordered online are true to size or not! Can you guys please tell?
