Time required

Resources required

1. Foundation

2. Blush

3. Brush

4. Eye shadow

5. Eye liner

6. Mascara

7. Lipstick

1. Application of the foundation

The foundation is necessary for making the foundation even and also reducing the shadows of stage lights. A shade having similar color to the face should be chosen for the foundation. You can apply the entire coat of the foundation on the face including the neck, chin and around ears up to the hairlines. Use a small amount of powder for setting the foundation and blend carefully for getting the desired even composition.

2. Usage of the brush

The brush is used for defining and adding color to the face. A brush color having the natural color of the cheeks must be used. Apply the brush on the apples of the cheek while smiling. Sweep up out and down towards the hairline.

3. Application of the apple eye shadows

They cover the entire length and breath of eyelids. The stage lights make the eyes to appear smaller. A good color can help in making the eye stand out on the stage. Choose three complementory colors wisely. Apply the lightest stage under the eyebrow, the medium shade above the crease of the eyelid, and the darkest shade close to the eye. Slightly bend the colors together.

4. Applying the eyeliners

Eyeliners help in making the eyes stand out. Use the pencil liner on the bottom and liquid eyeliner on the top lid (in case the dancers are young, use pencil liners on both the lids). Apply a straight and thin line (which starts form the inner corner), for lining the upper lid. A dramatic effect can be created by extendng the line beyond the natural eyelid. While lining the lower lid, the start should be made at the outer corner of the eye with a thin line drawn under the lower lashes. Liners should start and end at the ends of both the eyelids.

5. Application of mascara

Use two coats of black mascara on upper and lower lashes of the eyelids. The older dancers often wear false eyelashes. Young dancers can get their peer effects by curling the eyelashes by a curler and then applying several mascara coats.

6. Application of lipstick

Use a bright shaded red or any other preferred colored lipstick on the lower and upper lips. Blot carefully and softly by using a tissue.

Frequently asked questions

1. Question. What is the difference between every day make-up and stage make-up?

Answer. A stage make-up has heavier formulations than every day make-up. This is because stage make-up runs away because of perspiration occurring during performance.

2. Question. How to fix up make up mistakes quickly?

Answer. If you have smeared your mascara or the eye-shadow has too dark color, you can remove it on spot by using the Q-tip which is dipped in the make-up remover.

3. Question. How to get the celebrity make-up?

Answer. The celebrity make-up is more dramatic and is more heavily applied when compared to the ordinary and every day make-up. For getting the celebrity look, you need to wear lipgloss, lipstick, blusher and foundation.
