Can I get some tips to apply eye shadow?

I don’t have very beautiful eyes so I want to enhance it by using some kind of nice eye makeup. I have a penchant for using different kinds of eye shadows for coloring my eyes. These make my eyes look really pretty. But sometimes I make blunder with the color mixing and become the centre to laugh. So I want to know some good color contrast that I can apply on my eyes which will make it look good, can you please give me some tips on how to apply it in the right manner?

How to apply it:1.Single color: If you want to give a single shade to your eye then select the eye color which matches your dress. Don’t go for very bold colors. Choose a lighter shade of color of your dress. Bronze and golden goes well with almost every color dress. Close your eyes and apply the color with cosmetic sponge or small brush or your finger tip from lash line to the eyebrow bone. Cover the complete eye area. You can also apply a darker shade to the lower area and the lighter shade of the same color to the upper half.2. Double color: Say you are wearing a blue dress and you are not confident about blue make up. Then apply a nude color say beige or brown starting from inner corner of lash line to the middle of it. Cover the area till eyebrow bone with brown color. For rest half (or less than half ) apply blue color. It will give you a vibrant look.3.Mixing and matching: Apply purple color near the top lash line to the outer corner of the eye and in the crease. Lightly apply blue color to the center of the eyelid. Finish eyes with cream golden color to the brow bone and inner corner of the eye.
